NPSB is honored to be the recipient of the
2025 Sudler Silver Scroll Award!
The Sudler Silver Scroll Award is a prestigious international distinction presented by the John Philip Sousa Foundation to honor exceptional community concert bands.
Widely regarded as the highest international recognition for community bands, it celebrates musical excellence, service, and commitment to the rich tradition of community band music.
The purpose of the award is to honor adult community bands that have achieved a high standard of musical excellence and have contributed greatly to enhancing the cultural life of their communities.
To be eligible for this award, the band must be a non-collegiate, adult community bands that perform regularly and demonstrate consistent artistic quality. A band may receive the award only once.
The selection criteria are based on:
- Excellence of performance
- Consistency and quality of repertoire
- Contribution to the community’s musical life
- Leadership of the conductor
- Support from the community and membership stability
The 2025 Sudler Silver Scroll Award will be announced at the Sousa Foundation Celebration Reception on December 19, 2025 at the Midwest Clinic International Band and Orchestra Conference in Chicago, IL. The award will be presented to NPSB during our May Concert on May 3, 2026, by the John Philip Sousa Foundation, which promotes and supports band music worldwide.
